Fire
“His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice
was like the sound of rushing waters.” Revelation 1:15 “They
are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter
than honey, than honey from the comb.” Psalms 19:10 “You
rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your
commands.” Psalms 119:21 “He will sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like
gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men
who will bring offerings in righteousness,” Malachi 3:3 “I
baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one
who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He
will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” Matthew
3:11 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it
were already kindled!” Luke 12:49 “And I myself will be a
wall of fire around it,” declares the LORD,
“and I will be its glory within.” Zechariah 2:5 “This third I
will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test
them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I
will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
Zechariah 13:9
Grace
“But
the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the
covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it
is founded on better promises. For if there had been nothing wrong
with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for
another. But God found fault with the people and said: “The time is
coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the
house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the
covenant I made with their with their forefathers when I took them
by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain
faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the
Lord. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their
minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they
will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man
his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord’, because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their
wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” By calling this
covenant “new”, he has made the first one obsolete; and what is
obsolete and aging will soon disappear.” Hebrews 8:6-13
“Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of
sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a
man.” Ezekiel 1:26 “Make the robe of the ephod entirely of
blue cloth,” Exodus 28:31. “Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu,
and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel.
Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear
as the sky itself. But God did not raise his hand against these
leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.”
Exodus 24:9-11
Tabernacle
“Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains woven
of fine linen thread, and blue and purple and scarlet yarn;
with
artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them.” Exodus 26:1.
